Warren & George – Printing

Always speak to your printer before you do a job, to find out if the job at hand is doable.Ink jet printing is of a higher quality print compared to laser jet. Ink jet printing mixes water and ink.

When printing, use the print properties to specify the outcome of my print, rather than using the default settings. Get into the habit of doing this.

The printers in the design studios won’t print edge to edge > SRA3 paper (slightly larger than A3) will print to edge of A3, then can cut down, using guides.

Paper sizes at print bureau: 61cm, 91cm, 111cm, 152cm wide papers – these will print edge to edge.

Various papers available, some include: mount board, 290g paper, CAD, semi-gloss, water colour, bath paper (papers that allow light through), acetate, tracing paper, news print, banner paper (for outdoors), gold & silver paper, texture paper – ask about papers that I can print on.

Avoid images from the internet at all costs for print jobs, as these are a mere 72dpi, print generally at 300dpi.

Room: T1/11 – print well in advance to avoid queues (usually dependant on time of year)

Always add bleed to compensate for any malfunctions that may occur.
