Update, and slight relief!

Derek informed us that for the design in context essay brief, we are not restricted to writing about what we are being taught by Spencer, but we can bring in all aspects of what we are being taught into the essay, so for instance, I really enjoy the psychology and emotion in design theory that we are being taught by Tracy Lannon on Wednesdays, so I can implement this. We are allowed to to bring in all theoretical material into the essay, including our own, providing I make it relevant, and within context.
Derek explained that the contrast between Tracy’s and Spencer’s lectures were as follows:
Tracy – In what ways are we the same?
Spencer – In what ways are we different?
